What grade 9 students think of MDID?

About the unit:
During Semester 2 in Teacher DeeDee’s Grade 9 Writing class, students read three short stories exploring theme and author’s craft: “Thank You, M’am” by Langston Hughes; “All Summer In a Day” by Ray Bradbury; and “To Build a Fire” by Jack London. For the EOY project, students chose one theme from a story < kindness, feeling alone, trust, survival, preparedness > and used it as a springboard for writing to new students who join Mingdao International Department. Students selected a classmate to manage this project and the whole class decided that a BIG BROCHURE (46" X 33" accordion-fold) would be fun to produce and to showcase their writing effort.
