About Mingdao International Department

In 2014, the MDID functioned as an IB school to prepare its facilities, leadership and the entire stakeholder community of faculty, students and parents to seek authorization from the International Baccalaureate Organization in hope to officially deliver the Middle Years Programme (MYP) in Grades 7-10 and the Diploma Programme (DP) for students in Grades 11 and 12.

Since 2018, MDID has been authorized to offer MYP & DP as its official academic curriculum. And now in 2024, MDID is also the ONLY international school that offers Career-related Programme (CP) in Taichung and southern Taiwan.

「想像力比知識更重要!」是汪大久校長在校常與學子分享的一句話,他認為教育是希望工程,透過中學教育,學子不僅要學會課內知識,也要「學會學習、學會思考、學會做事、學會做人」(Learning to learn, learning to think, learning to do, learning to be),才能在全球化的社會中立足,成為「未來在等待的人才」。

About Mingdao International Department

To provide students with more options for future overseas study, Mingdao initiated a prestigious Global Citizenship Program (GCP) in 2007. Later in 2012, the GCP program grew drastically, and we established our very own department - Mingdao International Department (MDID). In pursuit of Mingdao’s mission to provide quality academic programs, the MDID was requested to initiate research into the adoption of the International Baccalaureate academic curriculum as a means of linking the MDID academic program to a world class educational institution with a consistent methodology for delivering quality instruction. As of 2014, the MDID has functioned as an IB candidate school as it prepares its facilities, leadership and the entire stakeholder community of faculty, students and parents to seek authorization from the International Baccalaureate Organization to officially deliver the Middle Years Program in Grades 7-10 and the Diploma Programme for students in Grades 11 and 12.

 WHY choose IB school?

IB is known to us as an excellent preparation. Success in an IB program correlates well with success at Harvard. We are pleased to see the credential of the IB Diploma Programme on the transcript.”
— Marlyn McGrath Lewis, Assistant Dean of Admissions Havard University, USA
