愛與服務的行動 Service As Action

This is the third year that 8th graders run a project to show “Caring” and act to make a positive difference in the lives of others around us. In this project, students constructed a plan of building a sustainable garden using organic and vertical methods that promotes plant growth in a small space and organic farming in order to raise awareness of healthy eating habits in MDID. Students followed their plan to grow tomatoes and vegetables, maintain the garden, and sold them to the community of MDID to raise money for the homeless people’s year-end dinner. Through this service action, students would like to bring a hot meal to warm homeless people’s hearts in cold winter.

今年是國際部 8 年級學生第三年經營有機垂直花園計畫，展現出『關懷他人』人格特質並化為行動，為周圍其他人帶來積極的影響。在這個執行計畫中，學生們首先構建出一套採用有機農法和垂直設計的永續花園規劃，來推廣小空間內的植物生長和有機農業，以提高國際部師生對健康飲食習慣的認識。學生們按照他們的設計出的計畫種植小番茄和蔬菜，透過種植、採收與銷售，來為街友們募集年夜飯。通過這次服務行動，同學們期待在寒冷的冬天為街友們貢獻一份熱食，溫暖其心。
