2018-2019 Grade 10 DP Course Fair
At MDID, students take the Middle Years Program (MYP) from Grades 7 through 10, and the Diploma Program (DP) in Grade 11 and 12. After official authorization for the DP in May 2018, the first cohort (Class of 2020) of DP students started last September 2018.
To fully prepare for our second cohort (Class of 2021) of DP students, the G10 students and parents will be having the DP Course Fair this Thursday, March 14, 2019, from 6:50 to 8:30 pm at Fulai Hall. The fair is an event where parents and students can get subject-specific information from DP teachers in order to make informed choices about their DP courses.
The DP at MDID
MDID offers the G11 and G12 students a DP curriculum that also meets the requirements of Taiwan’s Ministry of Education (MOE). The subjects offered have been carefully selected to meet the students’ needs for applying to universities abroad and to further develop the skills they have learned while doing the MYP in Grades 7 through 10.
As such, Chinese is offered as the default language for Group 1: Studies in Language and Literature. Since MDID offers all the programs in English, students are also given the option to take a second Group 1 subject in English and aim for a bilingual diploma. Students who are not aiming for a bilingual diploma are offered English Language Acquisition for Group 2: Language Acquisition.
MDID students take a second foreign language in their MYP, in either French, Japanese, or Spanish. In the DP, MDID students are given the option to continue studying their second foreign language by taking it as an elective instead of taking Group 6: Arts.
MDID options for the different DP subject groups are shown below. To get more information about these individual subjects, please click on the general information for each subject group below. and visit the different subject booths during the DP Course Fair.
