CAS Interviews

There are three to four formal documented interviews students must have with their CAS coordinator/adviser. The interviews are held at strategic points within the 18 months to ensure the success of a student in their CAS journey.

Why are interviews done? These interviews aim to:

  • build a relationship and develop growing trust between the CAS adviser and student

  • check and reinforce student understanding of CAS

  • guide students in opportunities for them to maximize their involvement in CAS

  • ensure students know about available resources to support them in their CAS

  • provide opportunities for students to reflect upon their CAS plans and experiences

  • encourage students to show evidence of achieving the learning outcomes

  • allow students to discuss CAS successes and ways of overcoming challenges

  • review and monitor student progress

Each student is asked to prepare for the CAS interviews prior to meeting with their CAS Adviser. Interview Planning materials are available under “CAS Forms” and will be discussed by the CAS Coordinator at least two weeks before the actual interviews.
